Hey hey hey (or should I say ho ho ho?) It's almost Christmas!! I don't know about you guys but I love Christmas, I'm just like a little kid. Or maybe it's just the chocolate that I like?? But then there's MORE food and presents and fun and smiles and cake and and yeah, I think I just love Christmas.
Speaking of presents, I hate spending money on expensive presents. So I say why not just make your own? Here are a couple of super quick ideas.
Hot chocolate on a stick!
Oh yes I did. Basically you just melt some chocolate in a double boiler and then pour it into mini cupcake cases and stick a skewer or a wooden spoon into them then put them in the fridge. Then when they're solid you can wrap them up and make them look pretty and professional. To use them you just stir one around in a cup of hot milk until it's melted and tadaa!! Hot chocolate!! You can up your hot chocolate making game by adding mini marshmallows or coconut. Here is a photo I took off the Total Girl website. Very cool Katie. Although they are really very pretty.

Mixed CD
Mixed cd's are possibly the most heartfelt gift you can receive seeing as the person has (hopefully) put effort into making you a compilation of songs straight from the heart. Super cheap to make and completely awesome, put a couple of hours into finding some funky tunes that you know you're friend/family member will love!! Oh and you can also make a cute cd cover with small furry animals, who wouldn't love that??!

Calendar
I know it sounds as lame as doing math in your free time but homemade calendars can be totally cool. You can print out templates from the internet and a bunch of photos that the person you're making it for can relate to. Glue on your photos and decorate it with stickers and glitter etc. then punch holes in it and tie it together with ribbon. Make one for an unorganised friend, it's a must do.
I hope my last minute gift ideas have inspired you to do something other than watching tv series and lying in bed doing nothing these holidays. Well, the next day.
On another note, have you heard the song 'Step' by Vampire Weekend? It's a little bit too groovy to be true. What kind of name is vampire weekend though? A very creative one I'm sure. Maybe they have twilight marathons every weekend????
Also, about weird things, yesterday I went to my local art gallery and there was an exhibition by a guy called Cai Guo-Qiang. He definitely has an artistic and kind of abstract mind as we can tell from this photo that I took.

I mean the wolves are pretty cool and all but I am struggling to grasp the concept of modern art. Maybe it is just an acquired thing? What do you think, is modern art your thing? Let's all pretend we're classy and sophisticated and ponder this concept. Maybe I'll get back on to this topic another day. In the meantime, have a great Christmas Eve and a Merry Christmas!!
