Aloha amigos! Recently I have come to the conclusion that peoples personalities are often shaped by what music they listen to, or maybe it is that their music taste is based on their personality.Well it doesn't really matter which way you put it because they both work. Often you can tell what kind of music people are into just by talking to them, you know? And then it hit me. I had the revolutionary realisation that people that have the same taste in music get along with each other a lot better than if they listened to different things.
By saying that I don't mean that you can't be friends with people who listen to different music, because of course you can! But the people that you have the deepest connection with, and the ones who understand you the most most likely have a similar taste in music to yourself. For example my best friend and I have almost identical playlists and we completely tune (see what I did there) into each others thoughts and emotions all the time. Another bonus to having a musically compatible friend is that you can have amazing impromptu jam seshes. Always important.
The other day I met someone who shared an equal love for The Beatles with me (which I'll mention is a lot of love) and we immediately got along. That was even before finding out he had an impeccable taste in music. Our personalities just clicked from the first minute and after scrolling through the music on his phone I was sure I had found my ultimate friend. We both had chilled personalities, a hate for immature people and could both play guitar. Talk about ideal! We also had our fair share of sudden crappy outbursts of The Beatles.
Anyway, my point here is that music can be the key point in a good friendship. It allows for a deeper understanding of each other which is so so important.
In other news, I am going to see Taylor Swift tonight. Apart from Ed Sheeran, she is just about the only person I listen to who comes off the charts. That means that it should be pretty big and amazing, and after all, this is Taylor Swift we're talking about! Look out for a post about it in the next couple of days. In the meantime, here is some photos of me being weird with a smoothie. Enjoy.
