I decided to recommend some bands and singers that will go just perfectly with your zen time. Look up any of these songs/albums and listen to them whilst gazing up at the stars and pondering life. Trust me, you'll love it.
BOY
This Swiss/German duo will never fail to please you with their soft acoustic tunes. Made up of vocalist Valeska Steiner and guitarist Sonja Glass BOY is a dream team fit to win over the hearts of anyone with a weakness for gorgeous vocals and beautiful, meaningful lyrics. They are most well known for their song 'Little Numbers', however my personal favourites are 'Skin' and 'Drive Darling'. You'll love them, no question.
Bon Iver
Led by Justin Vernon, Bon Iver have worked long and hard to produce great music. Formed in 2007, they have made their title a well known indie folk band, who I personally think deserve every bit of their fame and more. You would recognise their song 'Skinny Love'. Vernon has a voice that could lead you into dreams within a small matter of minutes, taking away your every worry. Check out their song 'Stacks', it's just a little bit perfect.

John Mayer
Aged 36 and still on fire, John Mayer is living proof that you can be an awesome guitarist and have the voice of an angel all in one. Check out some awesome acoustic skills with this guy. He's collabed with amazing artists such as Eric Clapton, and most recently, Katy Perry with 'Who You Love'. Try 'Why Georgia' and 'Free Fallin' for a piece of heaven. They are two of his most famous songs, but not without reason.

Matt Corby
Australian singer-songwriter Matt Corby was the runner up on the fifth season of 'Australian Idol' and has since made his place in the Aussie music industry with smash hits like 'Brother' and 'Resolution'. His soft and husky vocals display pure talent and raw emotion, leaving you in complete awe of his voice. 'Untitled' is beautiful and one of my definite favourites.

The XX
Born in London, this indie pop band has magical tunes with a pulsing base line that will demand you be left breathless. They have released two albums; xx (2009) and Coexist (2012). Coexist is so lovely and also a bit sad, but completely A-mAZING. Check out 'Stars' and 'Crystalised', you won't regret it.

Red Hot Chili Peppers
We've all heard of RHCP, the legendary rock band formed in 1983. Anyone that has heard their music will know that their weird worded songs are not really all that relaxing. However, as much as I love their rock songs, they do also have some downbeat tunes. Listen to their 'Greatest Hits' album. It is the most chilled out of their many many albums, and I love it to bits. Especially 'Scar Tissue' and 'Otherside'. Pure magic.

Keaton Henson
London based Keaton Henson is kind of the dream guy, not only being a sick musician but also an artist and poet. And look at that hair. He has a calming soulful voice to accompany himself whilst playing guitar. Check out his album 'Dear', it's just a tad gorgeous.

Daughter
Again from London, Daughter rose in 2010, starting with the solo work of singer Elena Trona, who is now joined by a guitarist and drummer, making Daughter a trio. Elena's voice is smooth and eerie yet also beautiful, leaving you with chills all over and a need to listen to more. Their songs are very downbeat and sort of unhappy, cue midnight crying and extreme cravings for a cup of tea. I personally love 'Candles'.
